This is another global organization i forgot i knew about but absolutely love. They work with domesticated elephants and their owners to provide and teach safe training and a safe environment for them to work and live. They also work with collaborating artists to learn different painting techniques. they use all non toxic paint and paint on eco-friendly materials either fabric or paper and sell their works to pay for supporting these elephants and vet care, but also toward helping wild asian elephants which are currently endangered. They also have a fashion show where they take the painted fabric and auction it off. check out the website!
Ideas for Lessons:
– paint like elephants ( make trunks to put you arms in & paint)
– a lesson on endangered elephants and research on why they’re endangered with proposals to save them.
– writing/ drawing short stories ” a day in the life of an endangered elephant.”
