Arturo Herrera digs up into your subconscious. Using imagery that is recognizable and fun and playful at the same time. His media is collage, photography, sculpture, wall painting, felt wall hangings, painting and work on paper. Some of his work have a strange familiarity to it.

Many artists have refrences, using the past, adjusting it, being inspired by it to make new works of art. In this paint Arturo Herrera wanted to used the classic shapes and lines of Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. You get a very strong sense of connection with this organic abstraction“Abstraction allows me to play within certain boundaries of interaction, and these boundaries are pretty intimate because the work is not telling me how to deal with them. I just bring my own history to them.”
He’s originally from Venezuela and had lived in New York and now in Berlin. Also featured in the PSBS series Art 21: Season 3
